Comment!

I want to hear your thoughts around my ideas!

Comment more! Don’t worry about not sounding wise and profound, I’m not interested in that, I just want to know what you are thinking about this project.

Come on, be mean, constructive, positive or critical, just say something!

Reading underneath the bookshelf could be comfortable, but I am unable to imagine how sitting underneath could be

Thank you Andrea, that is a valid point.
I’m working to incorporate some soft furnishing underneath to make it nicer. The space is not big enough for a chair but definitely a beanbag or big cushion. If you want to try it out at home just make a space that is 1650mm high and 1600mm long on the floor and 700mm from the wall, like the diagram in one of the posts below. (That’s how I tried it out the first time, it made a mess of the living room but it was fun 🙂 )
Let me know if you tried it and think it needs more space.

I would put lots of big cushions underneath to sit on and also 1 large cushion on top to sit on. Am still concerned that the books might fall off the shelves if there are no book ends to use. Also maybe it would need a “banister” to help you climb up it? This could just be a verticle pole like they have on old 18th century wooden library steps. 🙂

I thought that if you combined two of the designed you have available it would absolutely rock! The first design you have there in the green with the top-most shelf mixed with the design that has the wire frame and the reading seat underneath it would be brilliant… just an idea. Otherwise your concept is something I haven’t seen before and would absolutely love to have once you’ve got it underway and in shops or online.

Keep thinking outside the square!

Thank you Mozette!
I’ll make a model of your suggestion for the next run. Keep an eye out for it!
Such a shame you are in Australia otherwise I would have invited you to my degreeshow.
